Hey Richard,
Is there anything you can tell us about this score? Something to whet our appetites?

Sure - it is an orchestral score, very serious and somewhat mystical in tone. The main title (and a few other pieces) features an Indian violinist/vocalist. Rent the movie - I am very happy with the mix on this one (any composer can tell you how rare THAT is!). Hopefully La-La Land Records will post some teasers for the upcoming release. For some reason I am having trouble registering on my own site!

Thanks Jared. So how did you like the movie? I liked it a lot. I am planning on buying it. Very moving story. And... you can never get too much of Mary Stuart Masterson

She's a very classy intelligent lady - my wife and I had dinner with her one night at Michael Miner's house (the director). I have many fond memories of working on that movie.

She's a very classy intelligent lady - my wife and I had dinner with her one night at Michael Miner's house (the director). I have many fond memories of working on that movie. You're a lucky one! I have been a fan of hers going back to Some Kind of Wonderful, of course, but she really caught my eye in Chances Are. Going back to your score, it definitely set the tone of the film to where it should be. I enjoyed it so much that I was bummed after watching it cause I wanted the score right away and I have to wait until February to get it. I am hoping it gets released on schedule and there are no delays. It's funny how 90% of people don't notice the score at all and don't realize that the score is what sets the emotion of the film. Yes an actors performance does this as well but the overall "feel" of the movie comes from the score.

I've just been reading La La Land records message board and it says that The Book Stars soundtrack will be out in the 1st quarter of 2005 www.lalalandbb.com/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=16ps I had a crush on Mary Stuart Masterson for a long time. Loved her in Benny and June

It's good we are getting the same information. I contacted La-La Land about a month ago on this very release and they told me February 2005. Let's keep our fingers crossed.
