Sure - just finished The Honeymooners, coming out June 10th. And the score for The Book of Stars is being released by La-La Land Records this summer - don't have an exact date yet.

Yeah, I have been watching La-La Land's web site since way back when... it's taking them forever.

Just been brought aboard Betty Thomas' new movie, John Tucker Must Die. Should be fun - Betty is always fun to work with.

Are there any projects that currently occupy your time? Well, besides getting ready for the Halloween show......

I wish I was getting ready for the Halloween show. I haven't heard another peep about it.
Right now I'm just prepping for John Tucker. Looking to obtain some mics and pres.

So, did Gary give you a call? Did you happen to pick yourself up some mics and pre-amps?
Also, what do you mean by prepping for John Tucker? Getting equipment together, going through sounds, do you have some ideas that you are fleshing out?

Gary who? Haven't picked up anything yet.
Meeting with the director on Monday, meanwhile getting my logistical and technical ducks in a row.

Gary Griffith is Bartek's webmaster. I had sent him a little note just letting him know that you haven't heard anything regarding the Halloween show and maybe he could pass word along to those who are working on it. I hope you don't mind. Let me know if I have overstepped in any way. Here is what Gary said : "Greetings David Thanks for the heads up, I'll give Richard a call. Things are somewhat quiet on the show front right now, most likely due to the fact that there is one person running the show (basically), who's probably running around like mad and forgetting to keep everyone informed, hehe. Cheers!" I just wanted to facilitate some communication and I hope it was alright. On a odd note: When I think of Betty Thomas, I think of her topless scene in the movie Used Cars. Is that so wrong? ~David

No worries, David. I still haven't heard a word from anyone, in any case. Maybe it'll just be a big party/jam session.
Regarding Betty - I'll be sure to pass that on to her. Seeing as how I work with her, I'm kinda glad I've never seen that particular opus.

So how are things going on John Tucker? Did you end up buying any new equipment yet? Guitar Center has some nice financing going on and I'm trying to resist the urge to take advantage of it. Must.....resist.....urge......to....spend.....

Actually I'm hosting a mic pre shootout at my studio this weekend to help determine my next purchases. All of the manufacturers have been kind enough to lend me their high-end pres for the event, so I have quite a nice array for now - Millenia HV3C, Millenia Origin, Groove Tubes ViPREs, Manley Slam, Manley TNT, Martech HSS-1, True Precision 8, Thermionic Culture Earlybird 2, Neve 1073s, a few I'm forgetting, and my own Avalon vt737sps and Chandler TG2. I think I'll start a thread in Industry about it. John Tucker is still in the edit process, so there isn't a lot to do just yet. There won't be much in the way of score anyway, as it is quite song-heavy.

Hi Richard!!!
Been a long time since I have been here. No excuse other than always being so damn busy.
Wanted to see if anything new is going on for you.

Hello back, Jared,
Sorry this has taken so long to respond to - things have been very busy around here. I started producing the band Eisley for Warner Bros. Records in Sept. and we are just about halfway thru mixing the cd now. It sounds absolutely gorgeous, if I do say so myself. About a month or so ago my pal Jonathan asked me to music direct/arrange Korn's appearance on MTV Unplugged. We videotaped at MTV's studios in Times Square two weeks ago and we are currently mixing that cd as well here at the Woodshed, yours truly at the producing helm again. For this project I added four celli, two basses, two cimbassos, two bass/contrabass trombones, a saw player, a glass harmonica player, choir bells, and a six person taiko ensemble to Korn. Plus The Cure sat in for a mashup and Amy Lee (from Evanescence) sang along on Freak on a Leash. Fairly awesome. The show and cd will be released in February and Eisley's masterpiece will come out sometime this spring. Fun times! Obviously I haven't had time to pursue film jobs this fall/winter, but I imagine that will change soon. It's nice to do something different - keeps the creative flow fresh.
